Type of Player
I'm a min/maxer at heart I like to play with optimization in mind. This doesn't mean I don't like flavor and I may take a deviating path from an optimized build in order to progress my characters story.
I'm also a bender not a breaker. What does this mean you might wonder? It's a simple philosophy some people look at min/maxers with a little bit of a bad taste because if a mix/maxer goes to far it can ruin a campaign and honestly it's a true statement. That is why I bend the rules to better optimize my character(while always cooperating and working with DM approval) rather than simply breaking the rules with obvious rule mis-interpretation and loopholes.
A Large Group Size
This might be a bit jarring for many D&D veterans but my playgroup consists of 10 people(9 players and 1 DM). Now a lot of people are gonna read that and immediately go hell no thats sound so chaotic how does anything get done and how can it be balanced. Those are two very good questions and honestly its a very difficult one to answer. The first part how does anything get thats simple we are not afraid to say shut up the DM is talking/ hey story is progessing. It might sound rude but everyone understands that hey we are here for a good time, but also we are here to respect everyones time. The second part how is anything balanced thats a little difficult and the answer is it wont be at times and you gotta take those punches. It also teaches you to think on your feet I've almost TPK'd the party a few times because I overscaled the encounter or I've had to increase enemy count mid combat because the party is just tearing through them.
Crafter
One of my major passions for D&D is creating magic items. From the simpliest of items to world changing relics that can alter the course of an entire campaign. An equally enjoyable thing I like to create is enviromental scenarios for encounters. A simple combat between two groups can be fun, but might not be memorable; adding a "living" element to the ground the players are fighting on can cause them to stratagize and ultimatly remember the encounter.
The World
Our main set dressing is the Forgotten Realms, but we do venture out into custom setting built within the world. I'll speak more on that in a different area
